Meet the Team

Patricia M. Taft, M.S., Clinical Audiologist

Patricia M. Taft, M.S.

Clinical Audiologist

Ms. Taft is double board certified in speech-language pathology and audiology, graduating from the University of South Florida and the University of Florida, respectively.

For 20+ years, she has owned and operated Professional Speech and Hearing Specialists, working both professions as part of the Ocala Ear, Nose, and Throat team. In July 2016, she retired from her practice as a voice pathologist to focus her efforts solely in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss with an emphasis on audiologic rehabilitation. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and she is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Florida Speech, Language, and Hearing Association.

Aside from her professional commitments, Pat enjoys her family, cycling and playing tennis with her husband, doing CrossFit, and being active in her community. She was the first woman inducted into the Metropolitan Rotary Club of Ocala, and she served for many years as the chair of the Golden Apple Award program through the Public Education Foundation of Marion County, elevating it to a prestigious event.

Dr. McCallum graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida and went on to earn a Doctorate of Audiology from the University of South Florida.

She joined Professional Speech and Hearing Specialists in August of 2010. She specializes in hearing diagnostic testing, hearing aid programming, tinnitus masking device programming, and aural rehabilitation. Dr. McCallum is licensed to practice in the state of Florida and is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Associations. Her passion for audiology stems from wanting to improve the quality of life of others by breaking down communication barriers.

Dr. McCallum was raised here in the Ocala area and is blessed to have lots of family nearby. In her free-time she enjoys spending time with family, boating, exploring Florida, UF football & gymnastics, and science-fiction movies.

Kathryn Rehse, Au.D., Doctor of Audiology

Kathryn Rehse has worked as a certified and state-licensed audiologist since 1988. She received her Master’s of Science (M.S.) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences, Mesa, AZ.

She has an extensive background in diagnostic audiology, hearing aids and amplification accessories, vestibular disorders and tinnitus.

Dr. Rehse worked at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2001 to 2020 providing diagnostic and rehabilitation services and specializing in tinnitus. Dr. Rehse has presented on various topics including hearing loss and hearing aids, as well as, tinnitus at the local, state and national levels. She recently moved to Florida and became a part of our team in March 2020. She and her husband are looking forward to the warm winters in Florida as opposed to the cold, harsh winters of Wisconsin. They are excited to explore all that Florida has to offer.

Lindsey Lagalante, Au.D., Doctor of Audiology

Lindsey Lagalante graduated with a Bachelor in Science degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University.

She first joined Professional Speech and Hearing Specialists as a 4th year student clinician in May of 2021. Her doctorate of Audiology from East Carolina University was conferred in May, 2022, and then joined the professional team of Professional Speech and Hearing Specialists in July, 2022. She has extensive experience in both the pediatric and adult populations in diagnostic hearing evaluations, aural rehabilitation (counseling patient and family members regarding communication strategies), and hearing aid selection and fittings. While attending FSU, she discovered her passion for Audiology while volunteering and providing hearing resources and technology to those with limited access to health care abroad. Through her passion in Audiology, she aims to improve and maintain the quality of life of her patients.

Dr. Lagalante enjoys spending time with her family and three cats, crafting, and exploring all that Central Florida has to offer.

Pattie has worked in the medical field for over 15 years and joined Professional Speech & Hearing Specialists in 2019.

She is happy to help you navigate insurance benefits and obtain financing to get you on the path to better hearing. She enjoys playing tennis, scrapbooking, cooking and spending time with her husband and dog in her spare time.

Dawn is originally from Iowa. She relocated to Ocala in 2017, and she has been in the medical field for over 30 years.

Dawn is married with two children and a Westie named Lilly. Spending time with her family is the biggest joy in her life. She also enjoys motorcycle riding with her husband, reading and digital scrapbooking. Dawn joined Professional Speech & Hearing Specialists in December of 2019. She enjoys the small practice environment, getting to know our patients and bringing a smile to their face.
